Those words from Gandalf in the Mines or Moria is what I think of when I think of what BP, Haliburton, the United States Government, etc., have done to the Gulf of Mexico.

This is a monster of epic proportions unleashed in the attempts of making already wealthy a-holes even wealthier.

Some folk enjoy blaming us all because we are consumers of oil. However, we here at the bottom, as it were, have not created this problem. We can spend all day blaming each other. It is much easier to point fingers.

Me...I'm feeling rather powerless. I am watching a whole world destroyed. I am watching the destruction minimalized. I am watching death. I am watching the Balrog rise from the deep to kill because killing is what it does.
