The Olympics coporation has saw fit with the help of the Canadian government, to forcibly build structures for the Olympics on Lil'Wat land. The Lil'Wat can basically do nothing, and although they have a strong history of direct action protests, they often wind up in jail for this.
For the last year or so, they've been harrassed by the RCMP and CSIS(sp?, the Canadian CIA) in order to basically keep them shut up so the Olympics experience can be pleasant for everyone...but them.
They had a tribal referendum where 87% of the tribal members who voted said NO SUPPORT of the Olympics. Of course, all but one of the tribal council (illegally formed by the Canadian government years ago) thought better of leading their people and decided the tribe should support the Olympics. Knowing about tribal corruption, they are most likely getting something out of it as they sell out their people.
The Lil'Wat are doing their best to resist this corporate take over of their land.
