Coffee Stopper

I actually quit coffee cold turkey on Thursday, March 18. Until yesterday I had pretty much constant level two headaches. After just headaches the first day, my neck, shoulders, and upper back were added. Next day, lower back, hips, thighs and knees ached. It was very uncomfortable.

Yesterday was the first day without too much pain of any kind. Just a bit of a headache that wasn't constant. Today is even better.

Things I notice that are different are I sleep better. Not necessarily longer, but better.

I also feel a little more energy on a regular basis.

  1. I've been through a detox the past 2 and a half weeks. Not only no coffee, no alcohol, sugar, wheat, milk...well pretty much everything that tastes good and could be bad for you.

I had these low grade headaches for about a week and a half. The first Monday was the worst. Now it's definitely easier. I've been drinking a lot of decaf Chai Teas and water. :(

I did this once before and was really into instant coffee alternatives, Inca, Pero, Roma to name a few. Teeccino is a really dark and rich, but I found would give me headaches too.

If you ever get a chance check out Fubonn's on
82nd. They have a whole section of different types of warm instant drinks with almond powder or black beans, you name it, they've made some warm beverage out of it.

  2. I'll have to check Fubonn's out.

The headaches are pretty much gone.

I went on a similar diet about 15 years ago. It has been so long that I don't remember how I felt. No doubt better.

I have started eating more fruits and vegies. Less food as well. I have had quantity issues for quite a while and it took some discipline to get over that. My wife has been very helpful to me in this area.
